The McClain County Sheriff's Office, located in Purcell, Oklahoma, was founded in 1908 with its first Sheriff taking office in 1908. McClain County includes 580 square miles with roughly 34,506 people in population (2010 Census).
McClain County is bordered by the following counties: Cleveland County and Pottawatomie Counties to the north, Pontotoc County to the east, Garvin County to the south, and Grady County to the west.
